Welcome to the page dedicated to historical heritage. Here I share my work, which is rooted in our rich history.
Of course, Heerlen is known for its fascinating Roman and medieval past, and I am passionate about researching and developing textile techniques used in those times.
During my quest, I delved deeper and deeper into the past and the craft, which helped enrich my skills, knowledge of materials and historical context.
My repertoire of historical techniques now includes spindle spinning, card weaving, band weaving, hand weaving and dyeing with natural materials, all of which contribute to our cultural heritage.
I cherish the silent hope that one day a spinning wheel or loom weight will be discovered in our backyard.
Are you interested in one of these techniques, a historically accurate replica, or a modern replica? Feel free to inquire about the possibilities!
