Over Lindenfield Wovens

I'm Suzanne, a passionate weaver with a deep love for textile craftsmanship in all its facets. My designs and creations include scarves, shawls, wraps, and baby blankets, crafted from high-quality, often hand-dyed, natural materials. Each piece is created with care, tranquility, and craftsmanship.

The name Lindenfield is derived from Lindeveld, the neighborhood in Heerlen where I live. This area is located in the Roman Quarter, meaning that Roman archaeological finds are regularly made nearby.

Because of my interest in archaeology, I regularly attend excavations or give lectures. And I extend this passion to the study of textile art through the ages. You can read more about this in the Historical Heritage section.

I consider weaving a craft in which I never stop learning. It's special to work within a tradition that's thousands of years old, and to realize that I'm literally following in the footsteps of countless weavers who came before me. At the same time, I'm constantly discovering new techniques, materials, and methods for producing textiles. This keeps the craft vibrant and challenging.

With a keen eye for detail and a deep respect for the material, I am a passionate weaver. Weaving is incredibly versatile, offering a wealth of techniques, materials, and possibilities. This wealth fuels my constant curiosity and keeps me busy. From developing designs and gathering inspiration for color combinations to testing dyes, materials, and techniques, this dynamic process consistently creates unique textile pieces.
